It was our pleasure to catch up with Sixtine Crutchfield, art director of WiseKey, which is a global leader in cybersecurity, digital identity, and Internet of Things (IoT) solutions which also runs WISe.ART, a marketplace for NFT art.

1. Can you give us an overview of your background and how you started WISe.ART?

I have attached my bio, but in short I have been involved directly or indirectly with the arts industry my whole life, graduation in art from High School onwards.

I studied Mass Communication with a major in Art History and Theater. After that I worked in art galleries, also ran my own projects, then moved to Australia where I landed a job with the Arts Council, returned to Switzerland as an art advisor in a private bank, then managed art fairs in Moscow, Salzburg, Baku and Geneva.

I also wrote an MBA programme in art management for Geneva Business School and that is where I met Carlos Moreira who asked me to join their team for the development of WISe.ART.

2. What is your favorite thing about the cyber security ecosystem right now?

It is the differentiator for WISe.ART and its competitors. With the support of WISeKEY, we can safely say that we will not be caught out when regulation for the virtual transactions will be in place.

Cyber Security is key to the future success of any digital web03 endeavour. We benefit from 25 years of experience with WISeKEY. With the oncoming of AI, machine learning needs to be concentrated on saving humans not replacing them.

3. What tips can you give to entrepreneurs considering starting a business in cyber security space?

Don't, ask us instead 😉 Jokes aside, like for any other projects, know from the start what you wish to achieve, why and who for. How to get there is a matter of consistency, planning and rigor.

4. What cyber security tools or startups do you use on a regular basis?

We try many things and are always open to suggestions and discussions. We do not adhere to every offer which comes our way, but it is good to be curious.

In relation to the art world I personally train on FXHash and Tezos a lot, but have also opened accounts on Rarible and Toucan. I attend many conferences to stay updated on the latest trends and developments.

5. What's a great digital tool or hack you've discovered recently?

I am weary of open groups on Telegram or Whatsapp for example. Using fake ID and other people's identities on places like Paypal etc. is frequent and I have been hacked myself even if I am cautious.

6. What can we expect to see coming out of Wise.ART in the near future?

In 2024, we will launch the revamped platform with many new features in preparation to the WEB03, we have many artists already lining up and the tokenisation of company shares as well as the launch of a very exclusive utility token and a new partnership with Hedera and Hashgraph for an additional blockchain.
