Snyk Acquires Helios for Cloud-to-Code Risk Visibility Expansion
Israeli cybersecurity company Snyk acquires Helios, an Israeli firm, for multiple tens of millions of dollars to bolster cloud-to-code risk visibility. The acquisition aims to merge Helios' full-stack runtime data and insights with Snyk's Developer Security Platform, offering clients a complete view of enterprise apps throughout the software development lifecycle. This marks Snyk's second acquisition in Israel, following the purchase of Enso Security for $32.7 million in June 2023.
The Helios team, including CEO Eli Cohen and CTO Ran Nozik, will join Snyk, contributing their expertise to enhance application security. Snyk, founded in 2015 by Israelis Guy Podjarny, Danny Grander, and Assaf Hefetz, focuses on security solutions for developers, identifying and resolving vulnerabilities in open-source dependencies and container images.
Snyk, a nonprofit organization, has a substantial global presence with over $1.2 billion in funding. The acquisition reflects Snyk's commitment to addressing security concerns in the rapidly evolving landscape of software development. Peter McKay, the CEO of Snyk, emphasizes the importance of balancing productivity gains with increased risk in the software development process.
Eli Cohen, co-founder and CEO of Helios, expresses excitement about the opportunity to join Snyk and transform how the industry views Application Security Posture Management (ASPM), anticipating positive impacts on AppSec and developer teams' success.
