Vigilant Ops, a health data security firm based in Pittsburgh, receives a $2 million seed investment from DataTribe, enabling expansion beyond healthcare. CEO Ken Zalevsky aims to quadruple the company's size and diversify its clientele with the automated platform that creates and verifies software bill of materials (SBOM). The recent investment, part of a $4.85 million fundraising effort, follows Vigilant Ops' victory in the DataTribe Challenge, emphasizing the importance of strategic guidance and knowledge from DataTribe for the company's growth.

Zalevsky highlights that Vigilant Ops, primarily serving the healthcare industry, plans to extend its services to sectors like energy, telecommunications, and IT with increased resources. The company, currently with three full-time employees and fifteen remote workers, plans to double its workforce. The funding infusion will support hiring plans and further development of the platform to meet the rising demand for cybersecurity solutions across industries.

With a focus on enhancing product security and protecting sectors from cyberattacks, Vigilant Ops sees the need for cybersecurity beyond the medical field. Zalevsky emphasizes the company's mission to improve the security of products across various industries, addressing data loss, hacking, and breaches. The funding will play a crucial role in achieving the company's goals and contributing to cybersecurity advancements in the evolving landscape.
